40th Anniversary of the Biological Weapons Convention
The Biological Weapons Convention entered into force on 26 March 1975. This year therefore marks the 40th anniversary of this landmark Convention, the first to effectively prohibit an entire category of weapons of mass destruction. Further information on the commemorative events organized at the United Nations Office at Geneva can be found on the BWC website.
