People of African Descent

An initiative of the European Commission, established in 2004 within the framework of the Community Action Programme to Combat Discrimination (2001-2006).

The European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) is one of the EU’s decentralised agencies set up to provide expert advice to the institutions of the EU and the Member States on a range of issues. Fundamental rights set out minimum standards to ensure that a person is treated with dignity. In spite of a long tradition of safeguarding fundamental rights in the EU States, many challenges still prevent the delivery in practice of fundamental rights. Through the collection and analysis of data, the FRA assists EU institutions and EU Member States in understanding and tackling these challenges.

National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America

Race, Racism and the Law considers race, racism and racial distinctions in the law. It examines the role of domestic and international law in promoting and/or alleviating racism. The site includes statutes, cases, excerpts of law review articles, annotated bibliographies and other documents related to race and racism

UKREN acts as the UK platform for the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), based in Brussels. It is a UK-wide network of 160 predominantly non-governmental organisations interested in combating racism at a local, national or European level.

UNITED coordinates, supports and strengthens a network of 560 organisations from 46 European countries. They all share values such as intercultural communication, diversity and Human Rights. Main concerns: direct and indirect forms of discrimination, hate crimes and intolerance, intercultural understanding, equal rights for all and a Europe without racism.
