The Conference

World Conference on Human Rights, convened by General Assembly resolution 45/155,  took place in Vienna from 14-25 June 1993.
The final document of the Conference --  the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action  --
reaffirmed the principles that had evolved during the past 45 years.

From Teheran to Vienna

In 1968, the International Conference on Human Rights held in Teheran assessed the progress achieved since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 and set forth a plan of action for the future.
