The World's Women reports are prepared by the Statistics Division of the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) at five-year intervals, starting in 1990.

Provides an institutional framework for work on gender statistics in the UNECE region. Activities include facilitating the development of statistical standards and supporting national statistical offices to improve their capacity to produce and disseminate gender-relevant statistics.

The Generations and Gender Programme (GGP) is a system of national Generations and Gender Surveys (GGS) and contextual database, whose aim is to improve the knowledge base for policymaking in UNECE countries. GGP provides FREE data access to suport academic and policy research.

To help countries fulfill their promise to close the gender gap by 2030, the UIS disaggregates all indicators by sex to the extent possible, produces parity indices and develops new indicators to better reflect the equity and inclusion of girls and boys.

This website contains UNICEF’s statistical information, including data used in UNICEF’s flagship publications, The State of the World’s Children and Progress for Children. Also here are technical resources for conducting UNICEF-supported Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS), which are a major source of global development data.

This website serves as a platform for the dissemination of developments in the field of gender statistics and promotes the inclusion of gender statistics into all fields of statistical activities at both the national and international levels.

The WomanStats Project is the most comprehensive compilation of information on the status of women in the world. The Project facilitates understanding the linkage between the situation of women and the security of nation-states.

UIS is developing a series of new indicators about the dynamics that shape women’s decisions to pursue STEM careers – from their educational pathways to the social factors, such as starting a family and workplace environment. The data will then be used as an evidence base to better target policies at the national, regional and global levels through a new project, known as SAGA (STEM and Gender Advancement), financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

This gender data portal is a one-stop source of information on gender at the country level as well as a compilation of data on key gender topics from national statistics agencies, United Nations databases, and World Bank-conducted or funded surveys.

The Evidence and Data for Gender Equality (EDGE) project is a joint initiative of the United Nations Statistics Division and UN Women that seeks to improve the integration of gender issues into the regular production of official statistics for better, evidence-based policies.
